Professional web design by Marten J. Halma

My experience with web design started as a hobby when I created a website for my partner's Reiki and Reflexology practice. I found it to be a very enjoyable and rewarding experience. Encouraged by the positive feedback I received, I looked for other opportunities to expand my knowledge and skill in the art and discipline of web design and discovered that there is a huge demand for this service. I now have several completed websites with very satisfied clients.

But don't take my word for it. Please check out the completed designs below by clicking on the home-page thumbnails to the right of the site descriptions. I have reversed the order so that with the exception of the Photo Albums site, the most recent websites are listed first.

Marty & Scott: Photo Albums

This website is a personal one and consists of a number of photo albums that will be expanded as time permits. More albums from Southeast Asia and Cape Cod will be added soon.

KenSextonInteriors.com

Ken Sexton Interiors moved their business from Northern New Jersey to the Mid-Hudson Valley and needed a way to get the word out. It is a company specializing in window treatments and interior design for both home and business establishments. The site makes use of slideshows to show photos of their previous designs.

AHandAH.com

This is a website for an interior designer in NYC.

JanCouperus.com

This is still a work in progress. It is a website dedicated to the artwork of my grandfather, Jan Couperus. There are hundreds of paintings and sketches that will be displayed. In addition, I intend to add the extensive information I have about the Couperus family tree dating back to the late 16th century.
Update: Almost 200 paintings have been added to the site.

KarinWexlerArt.com

Karin Wexler is an artist and wanted a website to display her artwork and offer originals and prints for sale. It is a very clean and simple design so that her artwork stands out and is not competing with the design of the site.

Rabbi-Torey.com

This is a one-page website for a New York Rabbi offering to officiate at various events.

TheMSReport.net

This website was designed for a person with Multiple Sclerosis. The intent is to provide hard-to-find information related to advanced forms of the disease and an opportunity to share ideas using a blog. The blog was implemented by using a script downloaded from the internet and tailored to the website.

Note: This website is currently suspended, but will be back soon.

XFactorFTA.com

This is a website to promote the XFactor Free-To-Air Digital Satellite Receivers. It includes information about the 2 models, a support page for downloading firmware and user manuals, and an authorized dealer list.

Transfumers.com

This was another subcontracted job for an individual selling T-shirts. This site uses PayPal application interfaces to allow the users to pay for their purchases. This individual will ship his T-shirts all over the world.

HVExpo.com

This is website for the new Hudson Valley Outdoor Recreation Expo, the first of which was scheduled for April, 2009. The design for the website was done by the client and then I did the implementation. This includes all the code behind the online vendor application form to send the information to the administrator, send a confirmation to the applicant and place the information in a database.
Update: The Expo has been postponed indefinitely.

Cunneen-Hackett.org

The Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center is a non profit organization to meet the cultural needs of the community and it is where Scott Way's office is located. They asked if I would rededign their website and provide them with the capability to update the Calendar and Galleries information without knowing anything about web design. This was implemented behind a login screen using forms and PHP to interpret the form data and create the schedules. This capability is only visible to the administrators of the center.

Auburn Manufacturing

This was a proposal for a manufacturing company in Connecticut. At this time, the website has not been built, but it is included here as another representation of my design work. Clicking on the link will show a screen shot of the proposed home page.

DECISIONSedu.com

This was another subcontracted job for a substance abuse education service from Teaneck, New Jersey. At this time there is only a single page, but most likely will be expanded in the future.

RKREntertainment.com

I was subcontracted by another webdesigner for this website. It is a small one for a DJ based in Levittown, NY. He wanted some movement on his site, so you will see some animated GIFs.

Note: This website no longer exists, but by clicking on the link you can still see the home page design. Links to other pages for this design are no longer active.

Smokin-Toad.com

This website is for a local band in the Mid-Hudson Valley called Smokin' Toad. This was a fun website since I was able to do much more with color, images and sound. You can view some of the positive feedback on this site's testimonials page.

EPStrategies.com

A consulting firm, Enterprise Performance Startegies needed an update to a 10-year old and dated design. The "look and feel" was completely redesigned to make it look clean and fresh. This was also my first dynamic web site, allowing the contents to change based on the user's actions.

ScottRWay.com

This was my first website built to support the Reiki and Reflexology practice of Scott Way. The goal was to design a website that was easy to navigate and to convey a very peaceful experience.
New: I've updated the site to include Scott's massage partner, Nancy Greenman.

Thanks for dropping by and checking out these website. Please call or e-mail for more information.
